Armed With Anger Records was a hardcore punk record label based in West Yorkshire, England from 1992 to 2002. Bands signed to the label included Voorhees and Stalingrad.
Armed With Anger Records existed between 1992 and 2002, releasing 16 records by hardcore punk bands mostly from England, plus one photobook as a final split release. The label was formed out of a desire to document a newly emerging and renewed UK hardcore punk scene during the early 1990s, then quickly developed a whole new momentum of its own, ending up selling around 30,000 copies of its releases across the world.
AWA was established by Richard Corbridge, with the help of a small, loose but dedicated group of individuals residing in West Yorkshire, England, mostly revolving around the 1 In 12 Club in Bradford.
The label aimed to spread music, ideas and information, working with other similar collectives, friends, labels, distros, bands, publishers, and people from all around the world. An underpinning ethos of the label was the belief that reclaiming music, literature and distribution networks along DIY principles are among the first steps towards reclaiming our lives.
